Ted Cruz is staying home from work after interacting with a man who was later diagnosed with coronavirus.

The Texas Senator had a “brief conversation and a handshake” with the patient at last month’s CPAC conference. Cruz has not shown any symptoms but will self-quarantine in Texas until 14 days have passed.

Another Republican lawmaker, Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona, also shook hands with the individual and is also self-quarantining.

While the conference was also attended by President Trump and Vice President Pence, officials say neither came in contact with the infected attendee. Conference organizers say no other attendees or workers have tested positive for the virus so far.
