Canada And Australia Pull Athletes From 2020 Olympics

As the International Olympic Committee considers what to do about the 2020 Summer Games in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, at least two countries have withdrawn from the competition.

On Sunday, officials from both Canada and Australia said they would not send any athletes to Tokyo unless there’s a postponement.

The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Committee has called for a one year delay, admitting, “While we recognize the inherent complexities around a postponement, nothing is more important than the health and safety of our athletes and the world community.”

Meanwhile, the IOC revealed that they’re mulling a decision, which could come in the next four weeks.
