Wilson to Give Away Gas, Groceries

(CHICAGO) — Businessman and former mayoral candidate Willie Wilson plans to give away over $100,00 in free gas and groceries this weekend.

In a release, Wilson say he will hold a press conference to discuss the ongoing challenges citizens face
from high food and gas prices.

The grocery, and gas giveaway is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each participant for gasoline will receive $50 in free gas. Individuals participating in the grocery giveaway will receive a $25 grocery card that must be used the same day. The event is happening Saturday at 12 p.m. at the Shop & Save market located at 6312 N. Nagle Ave.

“I recognize that a majority of our fellow citizens are living paycheck to paycheck.
Soaring inflation, and rising food and gasoline prices are causing pain on household budgets
throughout Illinois and the country,” Wilson said in a statement. “Saudi Arabia’s announcement that they will cut oil production by one million barrels a day next month will cause higher prices and more pain at
the pump.”
