Former NU AD Named in Lawsuit

(CHICAGO) — A former Northwestern athletics director is the latest to be named in lawsuits over hazing allegations.

Jim Phillips, who is currently serving as the ACC Commissioner, has been named in two of three lawsuit that have been filed over the ongoing allegations of hazing and abuse within Northwestern’s athletics programs.

Phillips released a statement Thursday saying in part that he never “condoned or tolerated inappropriate conduct” against athletes as Northwestern.

Phillips went on to write that, “Over my 30-year career in intercollegiate athletics, my highest priority has always been the health and safety of all student-athletes.”
