Chicago Tourism Continues to Bounce Back

(CHICAGO) — The tourism industry in the city continues to bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tourism isn’t back to pre-pandemic levels but it’s close.

John Curran, Chicago vice president and general manager of Big Bus Tours, tells The Steve Cochran Show on WLS-AM 890 that this year’s numbers were good.

“The comeback is on track,” Curran said. “We’re feeling pretty strong with where we are in Chicago tourism. I’d say honesty we’re probably somewhere between 80 and 90 percent recovered.”

And while tourism numbers this year are strong, a slowdown could be looming as some conferences that were looking to secure 2025 and 2026 venues and booked during the pandemic, passed on Chicago.
