Florida officials say 6,000 mail-in ballots weren’t counted

Officials in Florida say more than 6,000 mail-in ballots weren’t counted in the midterm election because they arrived too late.

State law requires mail-in ballots to be received by 7pm on Election Day. Even though some 6,670 ballots were mailed before Election Day, they didn’t arrive until after that deadline.

Those votes might have made a difference – Florida’s races for Governor and Senator both were close enough to trigger recounts.
