Popular grocery chain Whole Foods is cutting health care benefits for nearly 2,000 of its employees.
According to Business Insider, the Amazon-owned chain will require employees to work a minimum of 30 hours each week to qualify for benefits, which will cut benefits for an estimated 1,900 part-time workers.
At least one 15-year Whole Foods employee said she was “devastated” by the news. Whole Foods says it plans to offer affected workers “resources to find alternative healthcare coverage options”.
