U2’s tribute to the lives lost on 9/11

It was February, 2002. The first Super Bowl since 9/11. Some might say America needed this event to take its mind off of what happened in September. But reminders were all around as security was extremely tight at the Super Dome and all around New Orleans. Two things happened that night. One, a great game which thrust a young quarterback by the name of Tom Brady into the spotlight.

The other, U2’s half-time performance, which is captured here. Of particular note, their performance of “Where the Streets Have No Name,” a moving tribute to all who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Will will not forget. Ever.
