Rauner’s World Series Wager to Ohio Governor John Kasich

By Jen DeSalvo, Big John and Ray Morning Show
Any professional team that plays Chicago in any championship event would be lucky to win for multiple reasons. Probably the best reason being that they usually are the recipients of some bet with a politician from Illinois who promises a supply of local goods to the team, fans, food pantries, etc.

Governor Bruce Rauner on Monday made a wager with Ohio Governor John Kasich to provide the leader a case of local microbrew beer and some Chicago deep-dish pizza. Lou Malnati’s, Giordano’s, Portillo’s Hot Dogs, Vienna Beef are just a few of Chicago’s culinary gems.

As for those microbrew beers? Atlas, Goose Island, Three Floyds, Half Acre, Revolution, and Two Brothers are just a fraction of the amazing microbreweries in the Chicago area.

Everyone’s talking about Malia Obama’s decision take a year off before going to Harvard. More and more students around the country, including some here in Chicago are choosing the same path. Chicago Tribune columnist Rex Huppke wrote a column about the issue and ended up getting a lot of flak, ironically enough from more left-leaning readers. He joins John to talk about the Great Gap Year debate in America in 2016. (Listen here)
